With growing anger across the country over a video of two women in Manipur being stripped naked and molested, the Chief Minister announced the first arrest in the case.
The incident reportedly took place in the first week of May, and on July 20, CM N Biren Singh said that police had detained the first suspect.
The BJP leader added that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators, and the possibility of the death penalty will be considered.
