The Ministry of Ayush has opened nominations for the PM Yoga Awards 2025 to recognize individuals and organizations making significant contributions to the promotion and development of Yoga.
The prestigious awards will be presented annually on International Yoga Day, June 21, honoring exceptional efforts at both national and international levels. The initiative to acknowledge outstanding contributions in Yoga was first proposed by the Prime Minister during the second International Yoga Day.
Individuals and Yoga experts can apply for the awards either through self-nomination or by being nominated by a recognized organization in the field. Nominations can be submitted via the MyGov portal, the Government of India's citizen engagement platform.
The PM Yoga Awards will be conferred annually to those who have made exemplary contributions toward the development and promotion of Yoga. Recipients will be chosen based on their impeccable track record and remarkable impact on the Yoga community.
Depending on the Jury's decision, awards may be presented to one or more recipients in a given year or withheld if suitable candidates are not found.
The awards will be given under four categories:
The winners will be announced on the 11th International Day of Yoga and will receive a Trophy, Certificate, and a Cash Award of ₹25 lakh. In the case of joint winners, the cash prize will be shared among them.
Applicants or nominees must have a profound understanding of Yoga.
The selection process will include a screening and evaluation phase conducted by a four-member committee.
Candidates will be assessed based on their knowledge, impact on society, and role in promoting ethical and spiritual values through Yoga.
