A teenage girl in Nagpur tried to terminate her pregnancy on her own after taking tips from video clips on social media site YouTube.
According to a report in Nagpur Today the incident came to fore recently in Narkhed Taluka of Maharashtra.
The report said that the 17-year-old girl was staying with her 27-year-old boyfriend in a room about six months ago and when the girl informed him about the pregnancy, he gave her some medicines for abortion but to no avail.
The frightened minor then started watching videos on YouTube, seeking ways to terminate her pregnancy.
The reports further stated that after watching a particular video clip, she stumbled upon a drug, and after consuming it her medical condition deteriorated and she was taken to a hospital, where she is recuperating.
The report said her boyfriend has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.
