Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Mitra has reacted to Gujarat government's decision to allow early release of 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano rape case during 2002 Gujarat riots.
Mitra, who is an outspoken critic of the BJP, wrote on twitter the nation should decide if 'Bilkis Bano is a woman or a Muslim'.
A pregnant Bilkis Bano, who was gang-raped in the 2002 Godhra riots, issued a statement saying the release of the convicts had shaken her faith in the justice system.
She appealed to the Gujarat government to 'undo the harm' and give her back the right to live her life.
