Pune: streets flooded, cars submerged, trees falling - heavy rain causes havoc

The residents of Pune had a harrowing day on 11 September 2022 as heavy rains lashed the Maharashtra city.

Heavy waterlogging, flooding of homes, submersion of vehicles, and incidents of trees falling over were reported from multiple places in the city. At least 25 areas were flooded, and tree fall incidents occurred in at least 10 places, as per officials quoted by news agency PTI.

However, no cases of people getting injured were reported.

An 'orange' alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Ghat areas was issued by the Indian Meteorological Department for two days.
