A daring and selfless act was caught on camera when a railway constable saved a teenager's life at a train station. The incident occurred at the Vitthalwadi station in Maharashtra's Thane on March 23.

At around 2:30 pm, constable Hrishikesh Mane spotted an 18-year-old standing close to the edge of the platform. Subsequently, just as a train was about to arrive, the teenager jumped onto the track to commit suicide, as per reports.

Constable Mane rushed after him, and descended to the tracks as well. With a train rapidly approaching, Mane pushed the young man away from the tracks. Within seconds, a CCTV camera at the station caught a train passing through the very spot.

News reports suggested that the teenager was counselled by police, and reunited with his parents later.
