Two days after a Kashmiri Pandit named Sanjay Sharma was killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama, security forces claimed to have avenged his death.

Hours after an encounter began in Pulwama's Awantipora, Jammu and Kashmir police claimed that a terrorist named Aqib Mustaq Bhat had been killed.

Cops said that he was the killer of Sanjay Sharma, who was shot dead on 26 February while going to a local market.

Aqib Mustaq Bhat was initially a member of Hizbul Mujahideen, but later joined The Resistance Front (TRF), a pseudonym for Lashkar-e-Taiba, police claimed.
