'Fake' PM Office bureaucrat holidays in Kashmir with hotel stays, security; arrested: reports

A man from Gujarat was recently arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar for allegedly posing as an official in the Prime Minister's Office and enjoying related benefits.

These included a Z-plus security cover, bulletproof vehicles, and accommodation at 5-star hotels, according to news outlet NDTV.

Kiran Bhai Patel's arrest reportedly came to light after he was sent to judicial custody on 16 March 2023.

He shared many photos and videos on social media, visiting popular tourist spots in Jammu and Kashmir with police and paramilitary security, as per reports.
