Cold wave hits: at 1.4°C, Delhi sees coldest day this season; 3-day alert by IMD

After a few days of respite from biting cold, northern India was hit by a fresh cold wave on 16 January 2023.

At 1.4 degrees Celsius, Delhi recorded its lowest temperature of the season so far. Low temperatures and fog prevailed in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Rajasthan.

An alert for intense cold wave conditions in north India for 3 days has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
