'Killing' of Bihar migrants in TN: police charge BJP's Prashant Umrao over tweet; Stalin dials Nitish

BJP leader Prashant Umrao from Uttar Pradesh along with a Tamil Nadu-based local newspaper owner have been charged for spreading fake news about "Killing" of Bihar migrant workers in Tamil Nadu and a police team has been formed to arrest them, as per the report by NDTV.

Spokesperson of BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit Prashant Umrao tweeted that "12 migrants from Bihar were hung to death in Tamil Nadu for speaking in Hindi". Umrao tagged Bihar chief minister Tejashwi Yadav and Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin in the tweet.

The tweet has since been deleted. 

The Tamil Nadu police have charged Prashant Umrao for spreading enmity between people on linguistic and regional basis.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin assured the safety of migrant workers to its Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar over the phone.

Furthermore, MK Stalin has issued a helpline for the migrant workers to ring in case they face any harassment in Tamil Nadu and assured complete safety to all migrant workers as per reports.
