Congress leader DK Shivakumar, who is vying for the position of Chief Minister of Karnataka, left for Delhi on the morning of May 16, 2023, to meet the party leadership amid deliberations over whom to choose for the top post.
The president of Congress' Karnataka unit answered a reporter's questions while travelling.
When asked who he thinks will be chosen for the top post, Shivakumar said, "That high command will decide."
When the reporter asked, "Are you not hopeful of getting more responsibility?", Shivakumar replied, "Party will give me responsibility. Why should I worry about it? If I'm eligible, they will give."
He added, "Ours is a united house. I don't want to divide anyone here. I will not backstab. I will not blackmail."
