India recorded 975 new Covid infections in 24-hours till Saturday morning. The total number of active cases in the country has jumped to 11,366.
Delhi is seeing a surge in positive cases, with the state’s positivity rate standing at 3.95%. Delhi reported 366 fresh cases, bringing the all time tally to 18,67,572. This is the second consecutive day Delhi has reported more than 300 cases.
Earlier this week, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had said that the government is monitoring the situation closely. According to senior officials, random Covid testing will restart at Metro stations and other places that see high footfall. Fresh guidelines on compulsory mask use is expected to be announced as well.
The government has also announced that free precaution dose will be administered at its hospitals soon.
