Assembly polls 2023: EC announces dates for Nagaland, Meghalaya, Tripura elections

The Election Commission Of India announced dates for first assembly polls of 2023 on Wednesday.

Declaring dates Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar, said while Tripura will go to polls on Feb 16; Meghalaya and Nagaland will vote on Feb 27. Results for northeast's three assemblies will be declared on March 2, 2023. 

Last week Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that more than 13.9 lakh electors are registered ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections. This includes over 30,000 first-time voters.

He further added that over 9,000 polling stations are present in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland.
