In his final address in the Central Hall of the old Parliament building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the complex should be called Samvidhan Sadan or 'Constitution House'.
"Now, when we are going to the New Parliament, the dignity of the (old Parliament building) should never be lowered. This should not be left just as the old Parliament building," said Modi.
The parliament is being shifted to the new building, which is capable of accommodating more members and is equipped with modern facilities.
During his address, Modi recalled various laws passed in the building such as the Triple Talaq law and the abrogation of Article 370.
