Delhi woman dragged by car: victim not alone, was with friend at time of accident

In a major development in the case regarding a woman's death after allegedly being dragged under a car, it has emerged that the victim was with a friend at the time of the accident.

The victim and her friend were riding a two-wheeler when the car of the accused hit them, police have reportedly found. The friend suffered minor injuries and fled the spot even as the victim's legs got tangled in the undercarriage of the car.

Subsequently, her body was dragged by the car for around 13 km, according to police. The FIR reportedly says that the men accused in the case confessed to being drunk. They panicked and tried to flee, the FIR reportedly says.

The accident took place at 2 am on 1 January 2022, and the FIR was filed at 5 am after police found the body while investigating the abandoned scooty. All 5 occupants of the car have been arrested.
