In a fresh twist to the dramatic Atiq Ahmed saga, his lawyer has claimed that a secret letter on the alleged gangster's behalf has been dispatched to senior public functionaries.
Atiq had ordered that the letter be sent out in case he is murdered, his lawyer told news agency PTI on April 18, 2023.
The sealed letter is being sent to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.
Atiq and his brother Ashraf were shot dead in full media glare on April 15.
