At Pakistan LoC, 3 Indian Army soldiers killed after falling into deep gorge during routine patrol

In a distressing incident, 3 Indian Army soldiers died at the India-Pakistan disputed border.

The Army said on 11 January 2023 that the three soldiers were patrolling along the Line of Control (LoC) when they slipped into a deep gorge after snow on the track gave way.

The incident occurred in Macchil sector of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The victims included a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO). All 3 bodies have been retrieved.
