Amitabh Bachchan's 'free speech' remark: fresh war of words between TMC & BJP

A war of words ensued between BJP and TMC over actor Amitabh Bachchan's free speech, civil liberty remarks.

BJP leader Amit Malviya in a tweet said the megastar made such remarks because he was in West Bengal sharing the dais with its Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Responding to Malviya's tweet, TMC MP Nussrat Jahan said tyrannical rule included banning movies, detaining journalists and all of it came under the ambit of capping free speech and expression.

Speaking at the inauguration of Kolkata International Film Festival megastar Amitabh Bachchan had flagged concerns over scrutiny of civil liberty and freedom of expression  in today's times.

The actor spoke at length on censhorsip history and repression of free speech.
