Delhi excise policy case: after ED, CBI takes custody of BRS leader K Kavitha

The Central Bureau of Investigation on April 11 took custody of BRS leader K Kavitha, who was arrested for allegedly paying Rs 100 crore to Aam Aadmi Party leaders in return for liquor licences in Delhi.

She is currently lodged at Tihar Jail under the custody of the Enforcement Directorate.

The daughter of Telangana's former chief K Chandrashekar Rao was arrested on March 15 from her residence in Hyderabad. 

The action came a day after the CBI informed a Delhi court that it questioned Kavitha in the corruption case related to the alleged Delhi excise scam.

Kavitha, an MLC and daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, has been accused of being a key member of the "South Group", which allegedly paid the ruling AAP in Delhi kickbacks of Rs 100 crore in return for a big share of liquor licences in the national capital.
