Another fiery face-off occurred between Opposition MPs and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha as protests over the Adani controversy continued for the fourth day in Parliament.

With protests for a debate and a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe starting as soon as the House convened, Speaker Om Birla asked the Opposition to allow Question Hour to proceed as planned. Birla asked MPs to "start the right tradition".

With Opposition members unrelenting, the Speaker accused them of not wanting the Parliament to function, and adjourned the House for an hour.
