India lost 800 doctors to Covid during second wave: IMA

Nearly 800 doctors have succumbed to coronavirus infection during the second wave of Covid-19 in India, according to data available with the Indian Medical Association.

Delhi has seen the maximum number of deaths of doctors at 128 followed by Bihar and Uttar Pradesh with 115 and 79 deaths respectively.

Recently, the IMA had also said that eight pregnant doctors lost their lives during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the IMA, 748 doctors died in the first wave of the pandemic.
