India on Thursday reported a massive jump in one-day Covid-19 deaths as Bihar fixed its Covid fatalities figures. India logged 6,148 new Covid-19 deaths which is highest single day spike since the start of the pandemic.
The hike was on account of Bihar revising its death figure by 72% to more than 9,000.
New Covid infections have stayed under 1 lakh for the third straight day. India logged 94,000 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, according to the health ministry dashboard on Thursday morning.
The number of active cases has also gone under 12 lakh to 11.6 lakh. Nearly 24 crore people have been administered Covid vaccine so far, according to the govt.
