Income Tax department on Wednesday raided the houses of filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl, leading Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu and producer Madhu Mantena. The I-T searches are in connection with Kashyap's Phantom Films, which was dissolved in 2018. The Income Tax department has alleged tax evasion as the reason behind the raids. Chief spokesperson of Sharad Pawar-led NCP, Nawab Malik responded to the Income Tax raid against Bollywood figures Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu, calling it an attempt to suppress the voices of those who speak against the Modi government. He said the director and the actor's properties were raided as they were speaking against the Central government.
