Swedish furniture retailer Ikea has started delivery of home furnishing items in Bengaluru through its e-commerce services and newly-launched mobile shopping app.

IKEA India CEO Peter Betzel said, Bengaluru is a very important market for IKEA as it is one of the largest home furnishing markets in India. The brand also plans to open physical stores in the city so that customers can hop in to a store for the entire IKEA experience first hand.

So far, IKEA already has an online presence in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara. In 2022, IKEA plans to open two city centre stores in Mumbai.
