Hundreds of people gathered at Krishnapatnam village in Andhra Pradesh's Nellore district on Friday reportedly to collect a 'miracle' Covid-19 drug. Locals gathered to collect an Ayurvedic 'cure' made by an elderly practitioner who also stays in the same village, who claims that his drug is an effective cure for Covid-19. The local Ayurveda doctor has no professional training and said he made the drug out of 'experience'. He is now distributing the medicine for free. Andhra Pradesh is one of the states worst hit by Covid-19 and a lockdown is in force till the end of the month to curtail the spread. Meanwhile, local YSR Congress MLA Govardhan Reddy said there have been no side-effects in those who consumed the Ayurvedic preparation. However, samples have been sent to Ayush laboratory in Hyderabad for testing medicine.
