Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka on Monday continued to be rocked by protests to denounce a wave of violence against Hindus. An image posted on social media perceived as insulting to the country's Muslim majority sparked spate of violence against the Hindu minority.
Attacks on Hindu temples have intensified since last Wednesday after a photo showing a copy of the Quran, at the feet of a statue at a Hindu temple was posted on social media.
Local media reported that six Hindus were killed in separate attacks.
Unidentified people burned up to 26 homes of Hindus in a northern village on Sunday night despite a warning by the government that such attacks would be firmly punished.

Followers of the Hindu group International Society for Krishna Consciousness, students and teachers from Dhaka University blocked a major intersection in Dhaka on Monday to demand justice. Several other Hindu groups also joined the peaceful protest in the capital.
The government has been under tremendous pressure to maintain law and order as the Hindus celebrated their largest festival, the Durga Puja which ended on Friday
