The Delhi High Court on Monday disapproved of political leaders and Members of Parliament hoarding medicines which are used for treatment of COVID-19. The observation came after hoarding of drugs by BJP MP Gautam Gambhir was brought to the attention of the Court during the hearing.
The court said political leaders have no business to hoard such medicines at a time when citizens are suffering and running around for such drugs. ‘If their intention is to do public good, then they should surrender Covid drugs to Director General of Health Services (DGHS) who will then distribute it to government hospitals,’ the Court said.
HC also asked Delhi Police to file status report after conducting proper probe into hoarding of medicines.
