Gulab resurrects as Cyclone Shaheen, may not hit Indian coast

Cyclone Gulab has resurrected as severe cyclonic storm Shaheen and moved to northeast Arabian Sea and neighbourhood with a speed of about 20 kmph. 

The weather system is likely to further intensify into a Severe Cyclonic Storm and move west-north westwards skirting Makran coast.

Cyclone Shaheen, comes just a week after Cyclone Gulab which made landfall in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

However, fishermen from India and neighbouring Indian Ocean countries have been warned not to venture into the sea till October 2. Those already at sea have been advised to move to safer areas.

Under Shaheen's influence, heavy rainfall is predicted in Gujarat, Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim till October 3.
