Serum's manufacturing site will have to assessed for Covishield to get Green Pass approval by EMA as per reports.

The EMA said that approval for AstraZenca manufatcured Vaxzevria does not mean nod for Covishield. In an email as reported by News18 EMA stated “Even tiny differences in the manufacturing conditions can result in differences in the final product, and EU law therefore requires the manufacturing sites and production process to be assessed and approved as part of the authorisation process.”

However, the EMA also has clarified that the authority to issue or approve a green pass for travellers rests with the EU nation members but is linked with linked to EU marketing authorisation for vaccines which currently Serum's Covishield does not have.
