The gap between the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine and the precaution has been reduced to 6 from 9 months .

A notification issued by the government said it was bringing down the gap in view of evolving scientific evidence and global practices.

Covid-19 precaution is currently available for anyone who is 18 years or above.

India began administering precaution doses of vaccines to healthcare and frontline workers and those aged 60 and above with comorbidities from January 10.

On April 10, India began administering precaution doses of COVID-19 vaccines to all aged above 18.
