Sanjeet fighting in the 91kg category won the lone gold in the men's contingent as he beat Kazakhstan's Olympic-medallist Vassiliy Levit in a stunning bout at the Asian Boxing Championship. Sanjeet ended Levit's 3-gold winning streak and won the bout 4-1 in a thumping manner. Amit Panghal in the 52 kg and Shiva Thapa in the 64kg lost their final bouts as they were forced to settle for Silver medals. India won a total of 15 medals including 2 golds in this edition of the Asian Championship as they surpassed their previous best show of 2019 when they won 13.
