Department of Telecom has given companies like Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea the go ahead to conduct trials for the 5G technology but has banned use or partnership with any Chinese equipment manufacturer for the same.

These telcos have tied up with original equipment manufacturers and technology providers such as Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung etc. In addition, Reliance Jio Infocomm will be conducting trials using its own technology.
