Four Covid-19 patients die in Surat hospital fire

Four COVID-19 patients died after a fire broke out at Ayush Hospital in Surat on Sunday night. Medical Officer of Health in Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), Dr Ashish Naik said ten COVID patients were under treatment on the fifth floor of the hospital when the fire broke out. He said patients have been shifted to SMIMER hospital and confirmed the 4 deaths. In-charge Chief Fire Officer of SMC, Basant Pareek said a blast in the air conditioner caused the fire. As many as fifteen fire tenders were rushed to the hospital and the fire was brought under control within half an hour.
