Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has been rushed back to the ICU after his oxygen levels fell. He is suffering from post-COVID sequelae, Abhijit Sarma, Superintendent, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) said. The three-time former Chief Minister has been at GMCH for the past several days after he had tested positive for COVID. He had tested negative about a week back but was not discharged as he has been weak and has co-morbidity issues. “His oxygen saturation level is being maintained at around 92%, and he is currently stable", Dr Sarma said. Assam Congress leader Debabrata Saikia visited the veteran Congress leader in GMCH earlier today. Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Gogoi and had a long discussion with the doctors of GMCH and took stock of the veteran leader’s health. Sarma also directed the doctors to monitor the leader’s health round the clock.
