The Health Ministry on Monday said foreign nationals residing in India are eligible to get vaccinated against Covid-19. They can register on the govt's CoWin portal using their passport as an identity document. Once registered, they will get a slot for vaccination.
The govt in its press release said that a significant number of foreign nationals are living in India, especially in large metropolitan areas, where the potential for spread of Covid-19 is high due to higher population density. So it is important to vaccinate all eligible people.

India's national Covid-19 vaccination programme has been underway since January 2021. So far, more than 51 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country. All citizens aged 18 years and above are eligible to get vaccinated.
