The Mumbai Police registered a case against the captain of the barge which sank in the Arabian sea during Cyclone Tauktae.

49 bodies have been recovered so far and 26 people are still missing five days after the incident. According to news agency PTI, the captain is one of those still missing.

The Yellow Gate police on Friday lodged an FIR against Captain Balwinder Singh of barge P305 and several others. The complaint was lodged by chief engineer Rahman Shaikh.

The captain has been accused of staying in the sea along with his crew despite receiving instructions to return to the Mumbai harbour in the wake of Cyclone Tauktae.
