Telugu actor Dr. Rajasekhar's 2019 film 'Kalki' has unexpectedly found itself in the spotlight due to a comical mix-up involving Prabhas-starrer, 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Recently, numerous shows of Rajasekhar's 'Kalki' were mistakenly booked on BookMyShow, with fans confusing it for Prabhas' highly anticipated release scheduled for June 27.
Reacting humorously to the confusion on social media, Rajasekhar clarified, 'Naaku assalu sammandham ledhu (I have no connection).' He playfully addressed the mix-up, extending his best wishes to director Nag Ashwin, and the entire team of 'Kalki 2898 AD' for their upcoming venture.
The goof-up came to light when users shared screenshots of their ticket confirmations, which prominently displayed posters of Rajasekhar's 'Kalki'. BookMyShow instantly assured customers that the tickets would be transferred to Prabhas' sci-fi, 'Kalki 2898 AD', acknowledging the error in displaying incorrect film information.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, 'Kalki 2898 AD' has an ensemble cast featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone in leading roles, with Disha Patani, Rajendra Prasad, Shobhana, Saswata Chatterjee, Brahmanandam, Pasupathy, Anna Ben, and Malvika Nair in supporting roles. The film, produced by Vyjayanthi Movies on an extravagant budget of Rs 600 crore, is set to release in both 2D and 3D formats across multiple languages on June 27, aiming to make a significant impact in the global cinema.
