‘Kantara’: Superstar Rajnikanth says Rishab Shetty starrer gave him goosebumps

‘Kantara’, directed by Rishab Shetty, has completely charmed the audience with its story telling and brilliant performances. Several celebrities, such as Dhanush, Prabhas, and Kangana Ranaut, have praised the film's presentation.

On Wednesday, megastar Rajinikanth took to social media and said that the film gave him goosebumps. He applauded Rishab as a writer, director and actor, and congratulated the whole cast and crew of this masterpiece.

Actor-director Rishab Shetty is overwhelmed as ‘Kantara’ is the doing wonders at the box office. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, he said that he never expected the film do ‘this well’ commercially.

‘The film is about man and nature’s relationship, and a part of Karnataka folklore. So I wanted to present this to people in my original language. But then the demand started for other versions as well. On Twitter, people would message me ‘Hindi, Telugu, Tamil mein release karo, isko pan India karo’. Mujhe pan India mein interest nahi tha to begin with,’ he said Shetty.

Rishab Shetty said people themselves have promoted the film a lot on social media and it is due to the word of mouth that film has performed well. He said the taste of the audience has changed and they have started to connect and get conscious about Indian traditions.

He concluded by saying that he’s grateful to audiences from across languages- Malayalam, Telugu, and other countries.

Kantara is an action-thriller which released in theatres on September 30. It has been written, produced, and directed by Rishab Shetty. The film, set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, highlights Kambala's traditional culture and the Bhoota Kola art form.
