The first phase Lok Sabha elections have begun today. Tamil Nadu is one of the first states to vote. Many Tamil actors have been seen casting their votes.
Actor Vijay Sethupathi and South Cinema's popular comedian Yogi Babu reached their polling booth to cast their vote in Chennai. A video of both the actors casting their votes at different polling booths has surfaced online. Before this, Dhanush, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were also seen at their respective polling booths casting their votes.
In this phase, voting is taking place on 102 Lok Sabha seats of 21 states and union territories.
General elections will be held in India from 19 April 2024 to 1 June 2024 to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The elections will be held in seven phases and the results will be announced on 4 June 2024.
