Actor Saif Ali Khan met Bhajan Singh Rana, the rickshaw driver who saved his life following a violent knife attack at his residnce.

The actor, accompanied by his mother, Sharmila Tagore, expressed heartfelt thanks to Rana for his quick actions in helping him reach the hospital.

Saif also made sure to cover the outstanding fare and assured Rana of any help he might need in the future. The two shared a brief but emotional moment just before Saif was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday.

Saif had been undergoing treatment at the hospital after surviving a brutal attack on January 16. The actor was stabbed multiple times by an intruder during a robbery attempt at his Bandra apartment.

Despite suffering serious injuries to his neck and spine, Saif managed to hold onto the attacker, alerting his staff and preventing a greater tragedy.

Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent two surgeries. He was discharged after five days of recovery, showing appreciation for the immense support he received during his hospital stay.

The attack took place when the assailant, identified as Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, entered Saif’s home in an attempt to steal valuables.

When confronted by the actor's staff, a violent altercation ensued, leading to the actor being stabbed several times.

Fakir, a Bangladeshi national, fled the scene after the attack, but police later arrested him. The police confirmed that Fakir had been residing in Mumbai for five months and was employed in odd jobs. His fingerprints were found at various locations in the apartment, and a reenactment of the crime was conducted by authorities on Tuesday.
