Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is doing wonders at the box office and it has managed to earn over ₹200 crore gross worldwide in just four days. Madras Talkies shared the numbers on Twitter and wrote, ‘The Chola legacy grows! #PS2 conquers the world with 200+ crores!’
‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’, which is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s five-part novel series, will reportedly cross the lifetime collection of two of the biggest Tamil hits, ‘Beast’ and ‘Varisu’. Film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan tweeted, ‘#PonniyinSelvan part 2 will CROSS the lifetime collection of #Beast[₹153.64 cr] & #Varisu[₹195.20 cr].’
The historical epic stars Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Rahman, and Vikram Prabhu.
On the other hand, Salman Khan’s ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ which was released in theatres on April 21, seems to have run its course after crossing the 100-crore mark at the domestic box office on day 10. The Farhad Samji directorial, which is a remake of the Ajith-starrer ‘Veeram’, earned a little over Rs 160 crore worldwide so far.
