Singer-actor Nick Jonas has often been addressed as ‘jiju’ (a term of endearment for brother-in-law) by his Indian fans as he’s married to actor Priyanka Chopra. In a recent chat with BBC Asian Network, the interviewer asked him if she too could call him ‘jiju’
Nick laughed, and said, ‘A lot of people do (call me jiju).’ He mentioned that during his recent India visit, where he accompanied Priyanka to the grand launch event of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, all the photographers were calling him jiju.
The host then played a clip from the red carpet, where one of the photographers was heard saying, ‘Ae Nickua…’
Nick replied, ‘Yes, I did hear that. It was very good to be back. I love India. It has been a couple of years since I’ve been there because of Covid, so this was a really fun trip. So yes, great to hear the many nicknames I have now.’
Nick also talked about his love for Indian food. He said that he would pick jalebi and samosa over gulab jamun and spring roll.
Nick Jonas is currently promoting his upcoming album with the Jonas Brothers, titled ‘The Album’. The trio recently finished a residency in Las Vegas.
Nick was last seen in a cameo in Priyanka’s latest Hollywood movie, ‘Love Again’.
