Sriya Lenka becomes India's first K-pop star

K-pop has become quite popular among the Indian youth these days. 

Recently, an 18-year-old girl from Odisha, Sriya Lenka has become India's first K-pop idol. She has been selected as one of the members of the Korean pop band 'Blackswan' along with Brazil's Gabriela Dalcin.

The official Instagram page of 'Blackswan's label DR Music shared the news on their handle and wrote, "Sriya and Gabi were finally selected as members of Blackswan after participating in the global audition program for the last 6 months."

Ms. Lenka and Ms. Dalcin will be in Seoul for the next five months.

The girl band which debuted in 2020 now has six members - Youngheun, Fatou, Judy, Sriya, Gabriela and Leia.

Blackswan held global auditions to complete their lineup post the departure of member Hyeme in November 2020.

According to India Today, Sriya is a trained musical dancer and has been performing since 12.
