Actor Lisa Kudrow recently revealed that she has been rewatching 'Friends' in the memory of her close friend and former co-star Matthew Perry. Kudrow had previously stated that she doesn't like looking at her own work. But in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter to promote her upcoming Apple TV+ series 'Time Bandits', Kudrow said that is revisiting some of the episdoes of late.
"Honestly, I wasn’t able to watch it because it’s too embarrassing to watch yourself. But if I make it about Matthew, then that’s okay. And it’s just celebrating how hilarious he was — and that is what I want to remember [about him]," Lisa said.
Praising her co-stars, Lisa stated, "I’m blown away by Courteney Cox, I’m blown away by Jen [Aniston]. Matthew, obviously, is just uniquely hilarious. No one ever knew that cadence or comedic rhythm before him. Matt LeBlanc is hilarious, and David Schwimmer, too. Sometimes I even laugh at what I’ve done. That’s my own little way of celebrating [the anniversaries], just watching it. But it’s embarrassing. At home, if anyone walks in the room and I’m watching Friends, that’s a horrible look, I think, don’t you?"
'Friends' premiered on Septemeber 22, 1994, and has gained a cult-classic status among the pop-culture enthusiasts. Lisa Kudrow played the role of Phoebe Buffay in the shoW, while Matthew Perry portayed wise-crack and sarcastic Chandler Bing on the show. Perry died on October 28, 2023 after suffering from acute effects of ketamine. He was only 54.
