Jennie of BLACKPINK will soon release new music. The K-pop sensation, who launched her independent label in January, will be featured on a track on BROCKHAMPTON member Matt Champion's upcoming album. The collaborative single has been titled 'Slow Motion'.
After she departed from YG Entertainment for her solo adventures, Jennie announced her first venture outside of BLACKPINK. The global superstar will soon be featured in the singer's upcoming album, Mika's Laundry. Described as a dreamy drum and bass track, 'Slow Motion' will mark the 'Idol' star's second collaborative song following 'One of the Girls' with The Weekend.
Jennie had previously teased the song on Instagram. Following this, fans were prompted to decode the lyrics that went, "Slowly... trying upside down, you're my escape... a reality. You know what you mean to me because I'm leaning in your way, making my heart cry. Nothing is love."
Jennie from BLACKPINK launched her label called ODD ATELIER in December last year, following the group's contract renewal with YG Entertainment. Speaking about why she launched her own agency, Jennie revealed, "I will continue to do group activities (with YG Entertainment), but I wanted to do solo activities more freely, so I carefully established my own agency."
“There is a crew of people that were with me for a long time (at my label). I wanted to freely do any activities and promotions,” she further added.
Meanwhile, all four members of BLACKPINK—Jennie, Jisoo, Rose, and Lisa—are expected to reunite for a world tour this year.
