Comedian Kapil Sharma has reportedly received a death threat via email from Pakistan, prompting the Amboli Police to launch an investigation. An FIR has been registered against an unknown person under section 351(3) of BNS.
The threatening email, purportedly signed by 'BISHNU', claims to monitor Sharma's recent activities and warns of consequences unless a reply is provided within 8 hours. Police have confirmed that similar emails have been sent to other celebrities, including Rajpal Yadav, Sugandha Mishra, and Remo D'Souza.
Sharma has now joined a growing list of celebrities who have approached the police following such threats. Sugandha Mishra and Remo D'Souza filed complaints after receiving similar messages. Rajpal Yadav, who discovered the threatening email in his spam folder, filed a complaint on December 17, three days after receiving it.
The Mumbai Police are prioritizing the investigation, especially in light of the recent attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. Khan was assaulted at his Bandra home and sustained six stab wounds. He underwent treatment at Lilavati Hospital, where doctors removed a 2.5-inch knife from his wound.
After recovery, Saif Ali Khan returned home on January 21, greeting fans and paparazzi gathered outside his residence. He expressed gratitude towards Bhajan Singh Rana, an auto driver who rushed him to the hospital following the attack.
Authorities are intensifying efforts to unravel the source and motive behind these threats, as the safety of celebrities continues to be a major concern.
