According to Sacnilk, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ grossed an estimated Rs 85 crore in India on June 30, reaching a total domestic collection of Rs 302 crore. This surpasses Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’, which earned Rs 286 crore in the same period and was the highest-grossing Indian film in 2023.
The Telugu version of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ contributed significantly with Rs 162.1 crore, while the Tamil version brought in Rs 18.3 crore, the Hindi version amassed Rs 110.5 crore, the Malayalam version collected Rs 9.7 crore, and the Kannada version earned Rs 1.8 crore by the end of its opening weekend.
Since its release, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has broken numerous box office records. Within just three days, Kalki became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. The film achieved the third-highest opening for an Indian movie ever, with a global debut of Rs 191.5 crore. It surpassed the opening day records of hits like ‘KGF 2’, which earned Rs 159 crore worldwide, and ‘Jawan’, which collected Rs 129.10 crore globally on day one. However, ‘RRR’ and ‘Baahubali 2’ still hold the top spots with Rs 223 crore and Rs 217 crore, respectively, on their opening days. Since Prabhas also starred in ‘Baahubali 2’, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ became his second-biggest opener.
