Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan-starrer Kalki 2898 AD added another major milestone to its journey after winning two honours at the 72nd National Film Awards.
The Nag Ashwin-directed film won the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, while Nitin Zihani was honoured with the Best Production Design award for his work on the film.
Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, *Kalki 2898 AD* was recognised for its large-scale storytelling that combines elements of Indian mythology, science fiction and a futuristic setting.
The film's team described the recognition as a celebration of the collective efforts of its cast, crew and technicians in bringing the ambitious cinematic vision to life.
Vyjayanthi Movies celebrated the double win on social media, calling it a significant moment for the team.

The production house also thanked the jury of the 72nd National Film Awards for recognising the film.

The makers also congratulated Nitin Zihani for his National Award for Best Production Design.

The National Film Awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu. Director Nag Ashwin, producers Swapna Dutt and Ashwini Dutt, along with other members of the Kalki 2898 AD team, attended the ceremony.
Released in 2024, *Kalki 2898 AD* is set in a futuristic world and draws on Indian mythology while incorporating science-fiction and action elements.
The film features an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Shobana and Disha Patani.
