Priyanka Chopra's OTT debut ‘Citadel’, co-starring Richard Madden, is set to become the second most expensive show ever producer, after ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’. The Amazon series, produced by the Russo Brothers and Patrick Moran, has reportedly overrun its budget. According to Hollywood Reporter, multiple sources claim that half the creative team has quit due to differences in vision, forcing the show into a round of expensive reshoots.
Sources have said that the seven-episode spy thriller which was already costing at least $160 million net has an additional cost of $75 million attached to it, which would make it the second-most expensive show ever made.
As per Hollywood Reporter, the web series aims to have spinoffs in future, with spy characters having their own adventures in their native countries - India, Italy and Mexico.
Priyanka and Richard were busy filming the series throughout 2021 and even earlier this year. The ‘Quantico’ star had regularly been sharing updates from the sets.
