American rapper Kanye West is controversies' favourite child. From his high profile divorce from television personality and makeup Moghul Kim Kardashian to his anti-Semitic views, the 'Power' singer often garners limelight for negative reasons. This time round, West is at the receiving end of criticism for allegedly using a sample of Ozzy Osbourne's music without permission.
Ozzy Osbourne has blasted Kanye West, alleging the rapper used a sample of his music without permission. Taking to X, Osbourne revealed he had refused Kanye's request to sample a segment of the 1983 live rendition of their song, 'Iron Man'. Despite rejection from Osbure, the 'Donda' singer still went on to use it on his new album. He wrote, '@kanyewest ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF “IRON MAN” FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS & WAS REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY. HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT.'
Following Ozzy Osbourne’s allegations, his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, has threatened legal action against Kanye West over his unauthorized sampling. She told TMZ that, "Kanye fucked with the wrong Jew this time," She added that they have already sent West's team a cease and plan on taking legal action if he continues to use the sample.
West has yet to react to the allegations.
